The player switches among the "live" mode (default) to control Sims, the "buy" mode to add, move or delete furniture, or the "build" mode to rebuild the house. One novelty from The Sims is foundations. The player can choose between playing a pre-made inhabited lot, moving a household into a built-up lot, or constructing a building on an empty lot. Community lots are where Sims travel to in order to purchase things like clothing and magazines, and to interact with NPCs and townies. I have Windows 8 and getting it to load up is not the problem BUT i Sorry for super late reply and im not trying to necro threads here. I eventually fixed the problem by buying a newer EP.

This was a really long time ago so I don't remember the details but it had something to do with Pets, basically whenever I tried to open up Bodyshop with my latest EP (Pets) I'd get an error. > Also, which Windows do you have? If it is not there: Go to "Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2" and delete the Groups.cache, Accessory.cache and cigen.package files then try opening it again. > okester - Do you have any CC installed? I've heard from a lot of people that they've had problems getting the game to work properly with Windows - Do you have any CC installed? How long are you waiting for it to open? If you have a lot of CC, it can take a really long time for Bodyshop to open, (even if you have no CC) just check the "Processes" tab on your Task Manager to see if TS2 Bodyshop is there.
